We asked some of the photographers and educators who are speaking at WPPI 2019 to tell us about their experiences attending WPPI, the largest wedding and portrait photography conference and show in the U.S. Here’s what Amber & Garrette Baird had to say.

What was your first year attending WPPI?
We’re basically newbies! Our first year attending was 2014.

Which speakers are you excited to see at WPPI?
We love learning from all types of speakers. You can learn something from anyone if you keep an open mind.

What keeps you coming back to WPPI?
We keep coming back to WPPI because we truly love the sense of community we feel. Now that we are speakers, we love educating attendees to help propel the industry forward.

What is the most unexpected thing that has come out of your experiences at WPPI?
The many friendships we have made with people from all over the world.

Best booth swag received at WPPI?
A few years ago, Sony had basically a coffee shop in their booth, so that was the best.

What is your fondest WPPI memory?
We love attending the Awards Ceremony and being inspired by all of the amazing images that win.

What are you excited to see in 2019?
We’re excited to see all of the films that were entered into the filmmaking competition.

Why do you come year after year?
We come back year after year to see all our friends, check out new gear and be inspired.

How has attending WPPI helped you propel your business?
Attending WPPI has helped propel our business because we have been able to make valuable networking connections over the years.

Can you share a funny story with us?
Amber went to a platform class hungover, started feeling sick, left right before class was over, ran back to her room… banged on the door… wrong floor…
