Couple Finds Trove of 2,000 Cameras and Lenses in Storage Unit (PetaPixel)
Talk about a treasure trove! A Massachusetts couple cleaning out a storage unit actually discovered about 2,000 vintage cameras and lenses. According to Petapixel, Kristen Cusumano, who works part-time at a tanning salon, was asked by her boss in December to empty out a storage unit. so she got her boyfriend to help her. After clearing out all the boxes, the couple estimates that the collection contained over 1,000 film cameras and roughly 1,000 lenses. Read the full article here.

Mark Seliger Donates Artwork to Aid Ukraine Jews (Chabad.Org/News)
On March 1, acclaimed portrait photographer Mark Seliger, who was the chief photographer for Rolling Stone magazine from 1992-2002, launched a project to raise funds for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. He released an abstract mixed media artwork featuring a never-before-published photograph of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson, that he photographed in 1984, when he was living in Crown Heights.

According to Chabad.Org/News, Seliger received a blessing and guidance from the Rebbe when he was just starting out and appreciates the impact to this day. To honor his memory and help the people of Ukraine, Seliger is selling 250 limited-edition prints of abstract mixed-media artwork featuring his original 1984 photograph of the Rebbe with his brother Yoel’s digital painting superimposed to create a one-of-a-kind artwork that marks the first collaboration between the brothers. Leica has just announced another limited edition camera, this time in celebration of the world’s most famous secret agent: James Bond. “Bond first arrived on the scene in 1962, just over 60 years ago, in the inaugural Bond movie Dr. No. Leica is celebrating the occasion by releasing a special edition D-Lux 7 007 Edition. The image-making company is also hosting a ‘Photographs from the James Bond Archive’ photography exhibition at the Leica Gallery London through March 23, 2023,” writes Abby Ferguson for PopPhoto.
