Canon Brings Forthcoming EOS R5 to WPPI

New Canon EOS R5

While it’s not in shipping condition, Canon showed WPPI attendees a glimpse of its upcoming full-frame mirrorless flagship–the EOS R5. Canon hasn’t spilled all the beans but we do know the camera will feature a brand new CMOS sensor capable of 8K video recording and 20 fps burst shooting with an electronic shutter (12 fps when using a mechanical shutter). What’s more, the R5 will be Canon’s first with in-camera image stabilization. It will also have dual card slots with the ability to automatically transfer images to Canon’s cloud storage service. No word yet on precisely when the R5 will ship.
