Editor’s Choice! Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art
With Sigma bringing its Art line over to E-mount, Sony shooters finally have a chance to get their hands on the company’s lenses. The 70mm is the first macro in the Art lineup with a true 1:1 reproduction ratio. It uses a focus-by-wire system instead of an inner focusing system, which Sigma says results in better image quality. It is dust- and weather-resistant and sports nine rounded aperture blades that stop down to f/22. It’s compatible with Sigma’s 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.

Zeiss Loxia 2.4/25
The 25mm manual focus lens further rounds out Zeiss’s line of Sony E-mount lenses. According to Zeiss, the lens is largely distortion-free thanks to its optical design. It features electronic contacts to transfer lens metadata and focus movements to your camera body, so functions like focus peaking and zoom magnification work properly. The aperture can be de-clicked using a supplied tool for smooth exposure transitions during filmmaking. The Loxia stops down to f/22 and can focus on objects as close as 9.84 inches with a magnification of 1:6.4.
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD
Tamron’s first Sony E-mount lens boasts a new high-speed AF driving system. Its RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) has been designed to “strike a balance” between speed and low noise. The lens can focus on objects as close as 7.5 inches at the wide-angle zoom setting with a maximum magnification of 1:2.9. At telephoto, you can focus on objects as close as 15.3 inches from the lens with a magnification of 1:4. It’s moisture-resistant with fluorine coating to make the front lens element easier to clean.

Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS
According to Sony, this 23.4-ounce lens is the lightest in its class and maintains a constant f/4 aperture throughout the zoom range. It’s dust- and moisture-resistant, too. It uses four aspherical lens elements, two of which are high-precision AA (advanced aspherical) lenses, alongside three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements to reduce aberrations. Nano AR coating helps minimize flare and ghosting, and fluorine coating on the front element makes it easier to clean.
Lensbaby Burnside 35
This wide-angle variant on a Petzval lens creates a bright, central focus area surrounded by a swirly bokeh and vignette. The effect is controlled via an aperture slider on the exterior of the lens body. You can focus on objects as close as 6 inches from the front of the lens. The Burnside is sold in a variety of mounts, including Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E and A, Pentax K, Micro Four Thirds and Fuji X.
