Lenses
Canon is growing its portfolio of native lenses for its mirrorless R cameras with the first telephoto zoom lens for the system, the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM .
This is also Canon’s first full-frame lens to support Dynamic Image Stabilization for five stops of shake reduction. Dynamic IS transfers stabilization information from the lens to R-series camera bodies to improve performance.
Autofocus is driven by a Nano USM which supports full-time manual focusing while the lens is in AF mode. The RF 24-240mm has a minimum focusing distance of 1.64 feet (wide) or 2.65 feet (tele) and a maximum magnification of .26x (tele). Like other lenses in the R family, it has a customizable control ring which can adjust aperture, ISO, shutter speed or exposure compensation. There are seven aperture blades.
The RF 24-240mm will ship in September for $899. It is available for pre-order now.
