Canon G7X Mark II
This speedy compact can hit 8 frames per second in continuous mode. It boasts a 1-inch, 20.1-megapixel CMOS sensor with Canon’s new DIGIC 7 image processor to help reduce noise in low light environments. It has a 24-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens with image stabilization, a 3-inch touch screen display and Wi-Fi. You can shoot RAW stills as well as 1080p HD video. If you’re the time-lapse type, the G7X Mark II lets you capture images at preset intervals and combine them to create a short movie clip.

Leica X-U
Leica’s first waterproof camera can dive up to 49 feet underwater for up to 60 minutes and survive a drop from up to 4 feet. It features a 16-megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor and uses a built-in Summilux 23mm f/1.7 ASPH lens with a 35mm-equivalent field of view. The X-U also has an underwater shooting mode to correct for aquatic color shifts, but unlike many waterproof models, this mode has its own shutter button to instantly shoot an image with the mode activated. You can capture RAW files, record 1080p video and burst at up to 5 fps.

Sony RX1R II
It’s the rare camera indeed that can sandwich a full-frame sensor into a compact frame, but Sony makes it seem effortless in the RX1R II. The camera boasts a 42-megapixel, backside illuminated sensor with a native ISO range of 100 to 25,600. The autofocusing system has 399 phase- detect points and 25 contrast-detect points covering a wide area of the image sensor. Optically, you’ll find a fixed Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm, f/2 lens that’s bright and sharp.   sony.com

Nikon DL18-50
The DL18-50 earns its name from its fixed 18-50mm f/1.8-2.8 lens. You’ll enjoy a 20.8-megapixel, 1-inch backside illuminated CMOS sensor and a super-fast burst mode of 20 fps with continuous AF engaged or up to a blazing 60 fps with AF fixed on the first frame. The camera has 105 phase-detect AF points and 171 contrast detection points as well as Nikon’s Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction to keep images tack sharp. You can record 4K video (3840 x 2160 at 30p), shoot RAW (NEF) and share images wirelessly via Wi-Fi.

Light L16
The L16 has 16 built-in 13-megapixel camera modules and lenses that collectively snap ten images at once for 130-megapixels of image data. This information is computationally rendered in the camera to produce up to a 52-megapixel-equivalent image, depending on your focal length. Because it’s capturing light from multiple different apertures and focal lengths, a photo’s depth of field and focus can be altered after the fact. The combined lenses offer a focal length range equivalent to 35-150mm.
