New Features for Sigma’s fp
While the Sigma fp hasn’t been on the market all that long, the company is already promising a significant feature upgrade with some new firmware due this summer. Among the new features the firmware will unlock is full HD recording in the CinemaDNG format at 8-bit/120fps. It will also enable the creation of in-camera cinemagraphs, still shooting during live view and movie recording, support for HDR shooting and a Director’s Viewfinder recording function. There will also be a software development kit so that third party developers can create applications for the camera. While you wait, Sigma will release another firmware update for the camera toward the end of March that will address a memory card bug and lens aberrations.
