Available now at $499, Tokina has introduced the ATX-M 85mm F1.8 FE telephoto for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras.
The 85mm angle-of-view is also popular for portraiture because of its compression, flattering to facial features. With a bright, fast f/1.8 aperture for low light shooting, it’s an ideal choice to create a large degree of separation between background and foreground subject.
The 9-blade aperture in the ATX-M 85mm also creates a shallow depth of field and rounded background bokeh.

There is a new ST-M autofocus motor with an all-metal focus unit in this model for quieter operation during still and video modes. It supports the latest Sony firmware features, including 5-axis image stabilization, Face/Eye Priority AF, Real-time Eye AF, MF assist and electronic distance scale.
With one SD (Low Dispersion) lens, optical construction includes 10 glass elements in seven different groups.

Tokina’s Super Low Reflection Multi-coating has been added to the front lens element to enhance natural color and contrast while also repelling water, oil and dust.
As the debut lens in Tokina’s “atx-m” series for “mirrorless”, the ATX-M 85mm is planned in the future for multiple mounts aside from Sony. Delivery will begin for the Tokina ATX-M 85mm F1.8 FE February 7th.
Pre-order starts January 17th.
