ZONZO
Simona Maria Cannone and Angelo Taraborrelli’s imagery, created under their studio name, ZONZO, is marked by its cinematic fluidity. “As kids, we used to sit in our grannies’ living rooms and enjoy all the great Italian directors—Bernardo Bertolucci, Giuseppe Tornatore, Mario Monicelli and Gabriele Salvatores,” they explain. “We absorbed those atmospheres, colors and lights, and now we always look for them in the stories we narrate.” From a technical standpoint, the pair—who shoots only with ambient light—goes for looks with classic and polished framings, shadows that wrap up the scene, dim lights and a natural palette.
