Vanessa da Silva says, “I’ve been photographing in the ‘shadows’ for a while. I have been doing video for a long time, and a few photographers don’t like the idea that I, a videographer, can be photographing. So, I always felt that I just photographed part-time—I did a few weddings for friends or one or two elopements as I wasn’t a ‘photographer.’ I didn’t post photos as a photographer because I was a videographer. But this year, I went to a photography workshop with Pablo Laguia, and he asked me, ‘What are you doing here?’ because I am a photographer, and I should own it. This was the start for me to affirm myself as a photographer.”
