Chellise Michael and Mike Busse thrive in the unknown. They’re not afraid to play with lighting and take chances artistically—even more so when they add film to the mix. “With film, we throw caution to the wind and shoot with a wild but educated curiosity,” they say. “Let’s leak it. Let’s double expose it. Let’s see what happens. Since the digital copy is always there as a safe bet, our film camera is our toy to go completely nuts.” Both self-taught photographers, the duo takes a more minimalist approach, all the while shooting for the feel of the day.
