Wedding of the Week
Recently, ProudRad, based in the Philippines, photographed the wedding of Betty and Michael in Hveragerdi, Iceland.

“It was a gorgeous location, complete with a waterfall and their family and friends, but what hooked me even more was the story of how they met,” says ProudRad.

Bride Betty wrote to ProudRad before hiring them, in a narrative titled “Coconuts and Boats on a Tropical Island.”

“People say that we are connected to everything and that each thing we do affects everyone else on earth. This held true in February, 2014. The place was a remote island within the Philippine archipelago, which was recently devastated by a super typhoon,” the bride described.
“A perpetual bachelor stationed in a U.S. Army base in South Korea arrives. He accepted a last-minute invitation from his friend John who intended to visit an old buddy, Alan. They had worked together in Iraq several years prior.”

Betty goes on to write that she felt intrigued by this stranger unlike anyone before. “So foreign, yet familiar. The stars aligned that night, all because of a series of events and decisions that strangers made over time. They have found each other, of all places, in a remote island, among the coconut trees.”

ProudRad was smitten with the couple and their story, which all culminated in a beautiful outdoor wedding in the charming gateway town of Hveragerdi.
