“This image was one that I was excited about,” says Dave Shay, a wedding photographer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. “Pulling into the venue to do bridal prep, I saw the outline for the silhouette and knew the light would be right around the time I was doing portraits. Once we finished with the traditional images, I asked the couple to take a walk over to their ceremony spot and look at it before their guests arrived. I ran far away and captured this frame, which turned out to be one of my favorites from their day.”
