Climbing up the Carpathian mountains wearing this Isabelle Vijiac designer dress for a self-portrait shoot may have been a bit of a challenge for Romanian-based photographer Felicia Simion, but she says the images she and her husband created were well worth the trek. “We took this photo at sunset, which brought the landscape to life, drawing out beautiful hues of yellow, orange and purple.”

The couple was patient and waited for just the right moment when the flare was at its peak beauty to emphasize the vastness of the surroundings. “What I like most about this photo,” says Simion, “are the curves of the mountains in the background, and how the colors change gradually. It creates a really nice depth effect.”
