This little flower girl was filled with energy and happiness at this wedding reception, held at Deerfield Inn in Massachusetts. She waited until the bride and groom had finished their first dance before starting to twirl around the room herself. Knowing that something else adorable was bound to happen, photographer Katie Schmid of The Commoneer followed this jubilant little girl around  as she ran about unrestrained, hopping from person to person on the dance floor.

“It can be tough to capture a moment of interaction [with kids],” Schmid says, “but I followed her around for a bit and knew a moment might happen when she locked eyes with the bride, looking up with such honest joy and admiration.” It did, for a split second. And then the little girl continued her twirl around the room.
