Photographers and filmmakers Charles and Jennifer Maring (of Maring Visuals) were thrilled to take part in this week-long celebration of Star Jones and Ricardo Lugo’s wedding aboard Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas cruise ship last month. “It was such an epic journey and celebration, and we created some truly spectacular photographs,” says Charles, who, along with his wife, spent the time filming all of the special events and parties, including Star Jones’ birthday. A short film of the event is set to air later on their You Tube channel, @TogetherInStyle.

Author, lawyer and former panelist on The View, Jones wed her beloved in front of 150 guests, including several celebrities. This particular portrait of the happy couple was created during a quick impromptu photo session on the ship using a Lumix GH5. “As we transitioned from dinner on one side of the cruise ship to a night of toasts and dancing on the other, time was limited, so we had to work quickly and efficiently to create a photographs of family, friends and the couple,” Charles explains. “We employed a Profoto B1, with a medium white translucent umbrella to the right of the camera, and we interacted with the couple to produce a wide variety of photographs in this location.”

The duo retained rights to vlog behind-the-scenes moments of the wedding, Charles notes. “We never took YouTube very seriously in the past and only posted randomly, but lately we are vlogging weekly, creating lighting and camera tutorials on our channel, as part of our outreach effort to help educate other photographers.”
