South Africa-based wedding photographer Matt Kay, whose business is called The Woods Photography, knew that this was going to be a good group photo moment for the bride, Sisi.

“Sisi had just come out of her room from getting changed,” he says, “and these little bridesmaids were waiting for her and they just piled in.” Kay was ready and waiting with his camera, after having turned off all the lights in the room.

“I always switch off all the artificial lights when I shoot and try and identify patches of good natural light around the space, and then wait for something interesting to happen in that light,” Kay explains. “I just got lucky with this one.”
