While driving the Scotland Highlands near Portknockie on the north-eastern coast of Scotland, wedding photographer Manuel Ortega stopped at Bow Fiddle Rock when he noticed a trail leading to a bluff on a cliff’s edge.

“I asked my friend and super talented photographer Andrea Calvery, who was also part of a Parker Pfister workshop we had attended the week before, to walk the trail while I waited across the canyon,” he explains. “She faced the wind which created the perfect scene with her scarf acting as a sail.”

Every time Ortega looks at this frame, he sighs: “I just love her grace and confidence.”

(Shot with the Sony a7R III with an adapted Canon 200mm f/2L IS lens at f/2, 1/1250 of a sec. and ISO 100 in manual mode. Ortega says he added a
touch of light to Andrea’s face using the New Stella Pro CLx8, which
Light & Motion graciously sent to Calvery to use during the workshop.)
