The Moment Before the Grand Entrance

Sometimes the best photos happen when you’re overly prepared, as in the case of Anna Poole of Devon, England-based Luna Weddings, who scouted her couple’s wedding ceremony location—Dartington Hall—for a prime spot to capture this fly-on-the-wall moment before the bride’s grand entrance.

Fortunately, it was a bright, sunny day when couple Lauren and Rob tied the knot and Poole (who runs Luna Weddings with her husband, Mike) knew the archway would make for a nice, wide frame of the bride as she walked through it. Says Poole, “I just stood back and waited.”

When Lauren did appear, her bridesmaids were trailing close behind and helping hold her dress as she ascended toward the main hall. To add more depth and mood, Poole made the photo black and white in post, creating a timeless and beautiful memory for both the bride and her closest friends.
