Photos of the Week
While the band was setting up for the reception at Eversholt Hall in Bedfordshire, England, photographer Eneka Stewart used the available down time with her newlywed clients to capture a few creative portraits. For this particular shot, a double exposure, she positioned herself up on the balcony overlooking the dance floor where she instructed the couple to stand—a perfect spot for them to be right before their first dance.
Stewart set up an off-camera flash to the right of the couple and then shot through the venue’s hanging light bulbs to get the glowing bokeh. For the second shot, she used the band’s colored dance floor lights to add extra mood and atmosphere to the final shot. “The hardest part was getting the camera settings right,” Stewart says. “There were lots of tables and wedding guests around the couple, but I wanted to document just them and the hanging lights. After I got the camera settings right for the hanging light bulbs, I then slightly adjusted the settings for the flash.”
(Captured using a Canon 5D Mark III and a 35mm f/1.4 lens with a Yongnou YN685 flash and Manfrotto light stand.)
