Divided into three categories, The Center Awards honors artists in The Personal Awards for “self-representation of under-represented experiences,” The Social Awards for exploring social issues, and The Environmental Awards for projects discussing the environment from biodiversity to climate change. The awards include mentorships, exhibitions and workshops.
The $5,000 Callanan Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes a teacher in the photographic field, including high school, college and post-graduate instructors. Unlike other awards, this category requires a nomination by a student. Along with the $5,000, it includes admission and presentation at Review Santa Fe and a membership to CENTER.
The program is also accepting applications for portfolio reviews for photographers looking for discussion and connection on their work. The reviews are expected to take place during Review Santa Fe in the fall of 2022.
