Leica welcomes the newest addition to its S-System family—the S3.
Today, Leica delivers the newest levels of performance and imaging quality for its digital medium-format system. The S3 features a leap in resolution from 37.5 to 64 megapixels—maximizing the potential of Leica S-Lenses and creating some of the best optics that wholly encapsulate the Leica look, according to the company.
The Leica S3 also debuts state-of-the-art video performance that allows users to record videos in cine-4K resolution across the entire width of the sensor.
Cameras and Lenses For All You Medium-Format Shooters Out There
The new, exclusive sensor offers a 71 percent increase in resolution from its predecessor, with a dynamic range of 15 f-stops and a maximum ISO sensitivity of 50000 to ensure photographers succeed in any light or environment.
Full-HD 1080p medium-format recording with higher frame rate options are also available for fast action or slow motion. The S3 doubles as a professional cinema camera with optional connectivity to external recorders and microphones.
