Targeting event, street and reportage photographers, Fujifilm has released a very small, high-resolution fixed-lens camera with bright aperture and full DCI 4K video.
With 26.1-megapixel APS-C sensor, the $1,399 Fujifilm X100V is planned for availability by the end of this month.

Starting at a wide-angle equivalent of 23mmm, the lens on the Fujifilm X100V can also be tele-extended to either a 28mm or 50mm in full-frame coverage for more standard views.
With top and bottom plates that have been milled from single pieces of aluminum, the satin finish and stylish exterior design of the Fujifilm X100V echoes the look of classic viewfinder cameras.

It’s the fifth camera in Fujifilm’s X100 Series of fixed-lens cameras, but the first model to debut weather resistance through the optional Fujifilm AR-X100 adapter ring and a PRF-49 protection filter.

New to the X100 Series, there is also a 2-way tilting rear LCD screen. An hybrid optical and digital viewfinder has an Electronic Rangefinder (ERF) mode that gives the best of both worlds by displaying a small EVF at the bottom right corner of the optical viewfinder.

AF performance gives face and eye detection down to a remarkable -5EV. Most cameras top off at -4EV during low light conditions. Conversely, an internal 4-stop ND filter provides more control over shutter and aperture when working under bright lights or outside.
Offering high fidelity video capture, 10-bit, 4:2:2 streams can also be sent externally to digital recorders through the HDMI port. Fujifilm offers a variety of film simulations that can be applied to video internally for fast edits and quick turnaround.

Video performance tops off with full-DCI 4K video with 4096 x 2160 resolution at 30fps. For HD, 120fps is available at 1080p to create slow motion.
A premium, genuine leather case, the LC-X100V, will also be available. The Fujifilm X100V is listed for preorder now.
