The Nikon Z fc is known for its classically inspired design but the camera just got an even more classic look with Nikon’s latest special edition announcement. The Nikon Z fc now comes in an all-black option inspired by Nikon cameras original color schemes. The Nov. 8 announcement comes with a film-inspired special edition of the Nikon Z 40mm f/2 that gives it the look of a classic manual lens.

The Nikon Z fc stands out from the Z line with a look inspired by classic film cameras. The special edition gives the camera an even more historic nod with an all black color scheme reminiscent of the original Nikon FM2 film camera. Besides the color change, the special edition embodies all the same technology as the original black and silver, including a 20.9-megapixel APS-C sensor. The camera is also still available in silver with multiple wrap color options including mint green and pink.

Nikon’s Z-mount 40mm f/2 lens is also getting a film-inspired refresh. The Nikon Z 40mm f/2 SE—with the SE indicating special edition—adapts a new look inspired by Nikon’s old manual prime lenses. The lens features a checkered knurling pattern and a silver band. The Nikkor name on the front also use the old logo and typeface.

While the 40mm f/2 SE looks old, it uses the same optics as the earlier Z mount lens with six elements in four groups and a nine blade aperture. The lens weighs 6 ounces and measures 1.8 inches long.

While the lens will be available from authorized dealers, the black Z fc will be a Nikon Store exclusive.
