Valeria Bross
“Simplicity is my dictum,” says Valeria Bross when asked to break down her post-production approach. The self-described “true light-seeker at weddings” tackles her image processing the very next morning after a wedding with only two weapons of choice: Photo Mechanic for culling and Lightroom to develop. “My output: 25 to 45 preview photographs for my clients to enjoy as soon as possible,” she says. “Afterwards, I let the wedding simmer for a couple of weeks. This helps me refresh my visual memory and approach it with a new angle and a clear perspective.”
With words like romantic, emotional, elegant and strong bandied about by clients to describe her images, Bross finds that capturing the true essence of each couple is top of mind. “The importance of portraying their real selves accomplishes my style,” she says. “Sometimes I get too close, but my couples don’t seem to mind. I’m deeply grateful for that.”
