Photos of the Week
One of the first weddings of 2019 that recent San Francisco transplant Sophie Berard had the pleasure of capturing while still residing in New Orleans was for couple Brittney and Tony, shown here going up a stunning stairwell.
“The wedding took place at their first home together,” says Berard, “and while they no longer lived there, the space was empty and groom Tony was pals with the landlord.”
This frame was actually captured at that landlord/neighbor’s house—”he had invited Tony and Brittney in to take pictures on his stunning stairwell,” Berard explains. “He was more than accommodating in helping me lower all the blinds in the other rooms and turn off almost all the lights in their home.”
Berard says she was pretty amazed by the fact that they were even in the landlord’s house because the historic homes on St. Charles Avenue are, she says, what dreams are made of. “I would frequently daydream about their historic insides. It was pretty incredible to be given the opportunity to shoot inside of one.”
