Photos of the Week
As Teshorn Jackson was taking this image of bride and groom Tiffany and Cameron in Antigua last month, he knew he was running out of time.
“The sun was kissing the sky goodbye for the evening and I literally had less than 5 minutes before it was completely gone,” he explains. “I photographed a model in Antigua in 2014 that was the same kind of setup and ever since, I’ve had a vision of doing something similar with a bride, given the right context.”
The first thing Jackson did here was ask the bride if she trusted him and she said they’d do anything he needed them to do.
“Using the existing sunlight that was on its way out, I sent my Mavic Air into the sky and took a few frames, making sure to land it away from them as lack of light while using a drone can be a problem if you’re not careful,” the photographer says. “Outside of drone safety, there weren’t any other precautions needed as they didn’t really have to climb up more than a few feet to get to where I had them lay down.”
Adds Jackson: “As a photographer it’s about pushing boundaries and giving my clients photos that are different from what they are used to seeing. I love knowing what went into making this image.”
