Photos of the Week
When this German couple decided to elope to Copenhagen, Liam Warton came along for the ride for a “creative pre-wedding session.” Warton flew down from Stockholm for the occasion—held at the artsy Superkilen park, in Copenhagen’s Nørrebro district—and took with him a couple of ’90s film cameras and “a bunch of different types of film.”
There was lots of experimentation that day, namely with multiple exposures, which Warton says he particularly loves for “the imperfection and randomness of the final result—plus, in my opinion aesthetically these images look much better on film,” he explains. “When I saw the bride’s dress, I knew straight away that I wanted to experiment with imposing the flower design over a wider image of the couple.”
Warton adds that he only took one shot at making this frame work, so he was glad that it did. “This is the beauty of shooting film for me: It’s all about the process of being present in the moment and getting things right in camera and not having the luxury of putting the camera in burst mode and blasting away.”
(Shot with a Contax G1 camera and 45mm lens with Kodak Color Plus film.)
