Primarily a documentary photographer, Samuel Docker is constantly on the lookout for those crazy little moments during the wedding day. “I’m partial to shooting epic portraits and scenes, but I also put a huge amount of effort into connecting with my couples and their guests, and love to spend little parts of the day with just the couple to produce something special to hang on their living room wall,” he says. Rather than shooting portraits of the couple for an hour after the ceremony, Docker always plans for two to three 10-minute shoots spread throughout the course of the day. “That way, the day continues to flow and we get a variety of backdrops and light to work with.” Outfitted with his Canon 5D Mark IIIs, several lenses (including a Sigma 35 Art), three 600EX-RTs and more, Docker pushes himself to “be continually better, whether that be from a technical point-of-view, branding and website, or how I deliver images. I’m always striving to be and do better.”
