Adrián Vilanova

“I have one life,” says Adrián Vilanova, “and I aim to color outside the lines.” Once a molecular biology lab technician, Vilanova felt his creative skills were unable to flourish to their fullest potential while maintaining that position. After completing studies in photography, he decided to make a career change and pursue his passion as an elopement and intimate wedding photographer. His style can be described as dramatic yet elegant, and charged with emotional, poetic nuances. Vilanova enjoys photographs that aren’t “technically perfect,” saying that he uses the techniques to empower his unique style.

Adrián Vilanova prefers to create a space where his clients can focus on the moment at hand. “I often explore the concept of identity by having people focus on external stimuli,” he explains, “especially music, memories and environmental components, making people reveal emotions in their purest form.” This orchestrated environment of intimacy forms a special bond between the photographer and his subjects, which has led to many lifelong friendships.
