Paulina Bichara’s photographic style is rooted in a colorfully rich narrative in which she is able to bring out the most vulnerable, relaxed and carefree side of her couples. This approach, she says, results in images that “transmit energy, flow and vibrancy. I’d also say my style is infused with a ‘modern’ nostalgia and warmth; both literally and metaphorically. I color my images with emotional purpose, finding a sweet spot between art and an honest account of the couple’s wedding day experience.”

Her approach in post is to create images viewers can feel with “all of their senses, not just their eyes. To do this, I use the same principles as I do in painting. I respect shadows as much as I respect light to enhance volume. I pay attention to contrast in order to make my subjects pop but lower the shadows and clarity a bit to add a simultaneous dreamlike element to my images.”
